MONGOLIA SETS NEW WORLD RECORD WITH A PARADE OF 15,000 HORSEMEN

ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA – In Mongolia, the heart of global nomadic civilization, a historic milestone was reached as 15,000 horsemen paraded simultaneously, setting a new world record. Commemorating the 2235th anniversary of Mongolian Statehood, the 820th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, and the auspicious "Fire Horse" year of the birth of Genghis Khan, this monumental event once again proclaimed the power of nomadic culture and Mongolian horse heritage to the world.

Mongolians previously set a Guinness World Record on August 9, 2013, when 11,125 horsemen paraded together. Now, 13 years later, that record has been officially shattered. Over 15,000 horsemen gathered as one, opening a new chapter in the global history of equestrian culture.

This historic event coincides with the UN General Assembly’s official declaration of "World Horse Day"—an initiative spearheaded by Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and now celebrated by 55 nations globally. This declaration marks a historic step, elevating the Mongolian horse culture—the lifeblood of nomadic civilization—to the pinnacle of global cultural heritage.

Out of more than 50 million horses worldwide, over 10 percent—approximately 5 million—are in Mongolia, making the country the global leader in the number of horses per capita. International observers note that this historic parade has not only solidified the proud spirit and independence of the Mongolian people on the world stage but has also exceptionally promoted the grand traditions of nomadic culture.
